The interface is a game. The robot moves on a platform similar to a disco dancefloor. The robot's head, consisting of a plexiglass cupola shines in a certain color and the player's task is to manoeuvre the robot to a field of the same color. You can duplicate this in the applet below.

The principle is easy to see through, as the colors change in certain intervals and, simply by chance, the robot will stand on a field with a matching color once in a while, which will be signalled by light and sound impulses. Gradually, the colors change more and more quickly, so that the game becomes more and more difficult. (The applet can be operated with the arrow keys of your keyboard).
In the beginning, the robot is dumb. He will only recognize few commands correctly. But the longer the player occupies himself with the robot, the better it learns to recognise the commands. It has to get used to unfamiliar voices, too, before accepting the new player. The adaptive learning of neural networks thus allows for continuity on a player change.
